No, I’m not slamming Canadian whiskey, but helping you with the pronunciation of a tiny and very good Niagara winery called Nyarai. It’s a South African word meaning humble.

Nyarai 09 Trois $19.95, is original and outstanding. A blend of Viognier, Pinot Gris and Sauv Blanc it offers three different blasts of refreshment. Vibrancy dominates but there’s also comfort. And intrigue. Refreshment that will keep you interested till the last drop. A great case for white blends. And for local wine.
Nyarai 09 Sauvignon Blanc $18.95, is razor sharp with an exciting mix of refreshment and tropical flavours. Excellent seafood wine. Move over New Zealand.
Nyarai 07 Syrah $22.20 is a classic cool climate edition of this grape. Vitality, bright flavours and refreshment. Has the light feeling we associate with Gamay or Pinot Noir. Red to lightly chill and gulp in the summer months. Works with everything – especially in the daylight hours.
