Breaking Bread

Bread is probably my second favourite food (sourdough fermentation!) and I recently had an orgasmic shopping morning thanks to the good folks of Burdan’s Bakery & organic farm. They come to London’s Western Fairgrounds Saturday Farmers Market with dozens of breads, buns and other tempting baked goods. You cannot miss the charming wagon located outside the market entrance. Lots more goodies inside the market including excellent espresso on the second floor.

BURDAN’S Red Cat Organic Farm & Bakery, 82560 Bluewater Hwy, Goderich (and at the Western Fairgrounds at the Saturday Farmers Market in London).

P.S. I’m excited to be participating in London’s Wine & Food Show on Friday January 13th – the ‘Girls Night Out’.

Sir Terrance & I

I have always admired the work of British designer/restaurateur Terrance Conran so you can imagine my delight at seeing our books side by side. Must make him feel proud too!

Ottawa Wine & Food Festival

Off to the Ottawa Show today to conduct my seminar – The World of Wine in 9 Glasses.

Next week it’s the Toronto Gourmet Food & Wine Expo…maybe will meet some of you there.

Have a great weekend!

Pull the Cork

traviswarhol2I’ve been wanting to introduce my readers to Travis Oke for a while – I love the way he writes . Travis is a natural educator . There’s lots of wine in his glass but he still manages to have his feet firmly planted. A lovely balance of information and story-telling.  And he’s a fan of BBB (bonus!).

Travis  is a high school teacher by day and a wine writer by night. His blog (Pull The Cork) appears in the online edition of the Guelph Mercury. This is what he has to say about our new wine app.
