Charmes Sparkling Brut & QR Code

ChatBrutStopped off at Hagerman’s Farm stall outside Bloomfield and bought a bag of bok choy. Wow! I wonder what’s next!

In keeping with the ‘good things grow in Ontario’ theme, check out Ch. des Charmes amazing Sparkling Brut. Has the high-pitched note and pure quality of Champagne.  Half Chardonnay and half Pinot Noir – the classic Champagne blend. Makes a classy aperitif.

Chateau des Charmes Brut Sparkling, VQA Niagara-on-the-Lake 207944 $22.95

P.S. Charmes is coming out with a smart new label (check out their Chardonnay), with  a QR code. Reading the code can be done with any mobile camera phone that has a QR reader. Many of the new generation Smartphones have a QR reader already installed. Point the cell phone camera toward the code, take the picture which activates the decoder and gives the user access to information, coupons, maps, recipes, images, paperless tickets … the possibilities are endless. A smart way to increase the amount of information contained on a back label.
