February Winter Wine Camp

WINTER WINE CAMP in THE COUNTY
February 17-19, 2012

SOLD OUT!

Forget the February blahs and treat yourself to Billy’s Best Bottles ‘Wine Camp’ in beautiful Prince Edward County!

Camp headquarters will be the luxurious Claramount Inn – a colonial revival mansion (circa 1904) located on Picton Bay. (www.claramountinn.com). I guarantee you’ll be impressed with the accommodation, meals, drinking and activities. Limited to 14 spaces. Bring your Valentine!

Arrive Friday – with a glass of County Bubbly upon check in – and later find me at the ‘clubhouse’ for a tasting and introduction to County wines. A soulful three-course bistro dinner will follow – prepared by talented chef Elliot Reynold. With wine of course! And the company of one of the County’s most colourful winemakers. Who knows where the night will take us!

After breakfast on Saturday we’re off to ‘wine school’ at the Waring House where you’ll learn the most important wine skill of all – matching wine and moment. An exploration of the ‘expressions’ found in the principal wine styles will help you see where they best fit with times and moods. Be prepared to be taken out of your comfort zone with new things to like. And be prepared to gain a new confidence and understanding of wine. This seminar will serve both the novice or the seasoned pro.

Next up is a pub lunch in the cozy Barley Day’s pub. Beer or wine? Your call.

The afternoon will start with a visit to the Oeno Art Gallery…world class! Here we’ll build on the morning lessons with a special wine & art ‘expressions’ tasting that I’ve designed with the gallery owners. Yes, more wine, more learning, more fun.

Naturally we’ll pop next door for a tasting at Huff Estates with award winning winemaker Frédéric Picard. And if you’re still standing (of course you will!) we’ll head to the Barley Days Brewery for you know what – before being chauffeured back to the Claramount.

Relax, mingle, hang out in the salt water pool, or take a spa treatment. Later we’ll gather for an elegant three-course, winemaker’s dinner with some of the County’s finest bottles. Optional after dinner party.

Sunday morning will start with a simple continental breakfast and a final wrap up wine class/test. Really! Followed by Elliot’s wonderful brunch. This will bring the weekend to a close – hugs, kisses and so long. However, you’re welcome to stay on for the afternoon – hang out in the salt pool or take in a spa treatment.

And speaking of pampering – consider coming and going ‘Via’ the train. For a nominal cost we can arrange for a taxi service to and from Belleville. Don’t worry – we won’t start without you!

Cost is $475 per person (based on double occupancy) and includes:
2 Nights Luxurious Accommodation
2 Fantastic Dinners with Winemakers
Saturday Breakfast and Lunch
Sunday Brunch
ALL WINE [in moderation:)]
Wine seminars taught by yours truly
Beer Tour and Tasting
Wine & Art Tasting
Transportation within The County

(Spa treatments are not included, and must be pre-booked)

Could be the most fun weekend you’ll have all winter. I’m proud of where I now live and am excited to show you a GREAT TIME.
